Warden Plastics is a UK based company with over 60 years’ experience in injection moulding.

Injection Moulding

Injection moulding is the process of injecting molten thermoplastic polymer into a cavity, in a hardened steel mould tool, which opens on a split line (following rapid cooling) to reveal a plastic moulding. Typically this process is used to produce plastic mouldings where the relatively high tooling cost can be justified by low unit costs and tolerances which cannot be achieved by other moulding processes.

Established since 1957, Warden has always been at the forefront of plastic injection moulding and extrusion, serving a diverse range of industries.

Many of the mould tools we run in our moulding machines have complex cores which operate in a plane 90 degrees to the tool opening plane. This enables designers to incorporate under-cuts and other complex features in their designs thereby eliminating or simplifying secondary assembly operations.

Warden Plastics operates with all procedures accredited and audited to ISO 9001 quality standards. This Internationally recognised Quality Assurance System demonstrates Warden Plastics' dedication to meeting our customers’ needs and thereby enhancing customer satisfaction.

Continuous investment in production technology and a flexible approach to work scheduling means we can offer consistently competitive pricing - even on short runs. As a customer you will have access to a wide range of presses. We offer plastic injection moulding from 1g to 800g in weight and have developed an expertise in over-moulding various materials including metals.

To ensure a wider range of services from a single source we have invested in additional technology to complement existing injection moulding capabilities. Our high-speed ultrasonic welder enables us to offer customers a highly-effective supply of both moulding and welding services. Additionally Warden Plastics can provide services on-site or through carefully selected partners that include printing, assembly, chroming and chrome metalising.

Design

Warden Plastics' customers have the option of supplying CAD files using the latest AutoCAD packages or, if required, have the opportunity to work with our team to lay down CAD drawings to the customer’s exact specifications. Customers can choose from a very wide range of colours and finishes to suit their requirements.

Tooling

Warden Plastics is an experienced UK trade moulder which holds over 100 existing tools. The safeguard of these tools is essential to the company’s strong existing relationships and is ensured by carefully selected toolmaker partners where repairs, maintenance and improvements are made.

Production

Our on-site moulding shop houses 14 separate injection moulding machines ranging from 30 to 250 tonnes lock. Products are manufactured to the highest standards prescribed by the ISO 9001 Quality Assurance System. We operate a three-shift system, providing full 24-hour production coverage, and our flexible approach to work scheduling means we can offer consistently competitive pricing - even on short runs.

Materials

Warden has been offering tailor-made, cost effective, plastics solutions to its customers for over four decades. In recent years this has meant using our experience to design and develop in-house automation to remain a leading service provider to the industry.

We have experience in working with a wide range of engineering thermoplastic materials and specialise in technically challenging polymers to suit customers from equally diverse industries ranging from the automotive, defense, medical, point of sale and construction markets.

The material specified is dependent on the application with various materials having inherent properties such as heat resistance, flexibility and stability.

Acetal, Nylon, PVC, ABS, POM, PBT, PC, TPE, TPU, TPR, EVA, PE, PP, PS and SAN are just a few of the materials we mould. We have developed strong relationships with our suppliers and are continually trialing new materials.
